This Thursday (July 5) will feature two short clinics: one on gear, and one on running-walking form. Usual start time: 6 pm and back at Claremore Lake.
For gear, your focus is from the bottom up and from skin out. Start with good shoes and socks, then good wicking/technical fabrics on your body. We’ll have some samples on hand and short discussion on each. From there its the more optional things as time permits: hydration systems, cooling and safety ideas, then “toys” like timers/watches, GPS, and HRM, etc.
For form, we all settle into some bad habits as we get older, and walking and running are no exception. There are more efficient ways to run and walk which we’ve mostly forgotten as we age, and the better forms have the benefit of helping you avoid injuries.
After the short clinics, we’ll do our training. The mentors will hang around afterwards for questions on gear and form.
As always, HYDRATE!
