We’ve Started!

Well, we’re meeting already at the Claremore Lake on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We start at 6pm from the Shelter north of the boat-dock, across the little cove.

Sign ups are accepted for one more week–please use the on-line sign up page.

Note on the Current COVID19 Pandemic: we are continuing as scheduled until or unless told otherwise by Local Health Authorities. Still, YOU SHOULD USE YOUR OWN BEST JUDGMENT about whether to come to the lake, most especially if you have a weakened immune system or are in a vulnerable group. We will update our status as conditions warrant.

New Year’s Resolution?

For those of you eager to get a head start on your New-Year Resolution to get more healthy, some important news: The Spring 2020 RoCo Fit session/season will begin on March 10. To help you commit, the on-line registration form is now updated and available. The Pre-Session Survey is available, but you might hold-off filling it out until closer to March, so it is accurate about what you get out of the training.

Thanks for your support and interest. Stay Healthy, friends.

A Major Award…

RoCo Fit has been recognized for helping improve the health of Rogers County with a 2019 Champion of Health Award from Oklahoma Turning Point Council. Nominators from Rogers County Healthy Community Partnership and TSET Healthy Living Program, RoCo Fit Coordinator and Advisory League members accepted the award at the OK Turning Point Luncheon Wednesday, Aug. 21st.

Another Stormy Day–No RoCo Fit tonight, April 26.

With the approaching/predicted bad, stormy weather for this evening, we are canceling RoCo Fit for today, April 26. Everyone gets a point.

For the intrepid: there may be a few mentors at the lake willing to take on the elements–if there is no lightening, hail, or other really really bad stuff. Show up if you want to take a chance there will be someone willing to “dance in the rain” with you, but most of all, your own safety is your own decision.

TRAIN FUN! (And Safe!)

Summer Session Concluding–Mock 5k Tuesday, August 4

The Summer Session is winding down.

The traditional Mock 5k is Tuesday, August 4. We’ll meet at the South end of the Claremore Lake Trail, near the water fountain, and be ready to go at the usual 6pm.

Plenty of good plans for healthy completion are in the works. Bring your smile and your favorite RoCo Fitness shirt to wear.

PUBLIC IS WELCOME–there is no charge for this event, not timing chips, no big prizes, … just an opportunity to have a mock 5k race, and see how you summer training helped you.

Don’t forget Thursday, either: the “Pace Night” at Claremore High School Track, to really measure your improvement over the last ten weeks.

TRAIN FUN!

Tuesday, July 28–no official session tonight

What is is about Tuesdays in July?

With the heat-stroke potential of the High-Heat Warning, there will be no mentored RoCo Session at the Lake tonight.

Someone will be on hand to pass out shirts for those who have earned them so far. If you are in that group, stop by.

There may be a few peeps on hand to do a lite workout, if you want to come dressed for that, but don’t count on your regular group or mentors being there as a group.

HYDRATE! Train Fun, not crazy.

Tuesday, July 14 Lake Sessions Cancelled

Heat indices for today are predicted to be 105 to 113.

They hit the predictions yesterday, so that will probably happen.

RoCo Fit Sessions at Claremore Lake for Tuesday, July 14, are CANCELLED.

Please get your exercise in, in some cooler location.

Hope we can get back at it on Thursday.

Thursday, 18 June: All Workouts Cancelled

Since Rogers County is under a flash flood warning, we have determined to CANCEL RoCo Fitness sessions for tonight, Thursday, June 18.

Stay safe, and be smart.

Remember your honor workout this weekend, and “if the creek don’t rise” more by Tuesday, we’ll see you back at Claremore Lake.

Train Fun!!!

Technical glitch–Solved

Contrary to what your browser and security software may have told you over the weekend, we are still here and as safe as ever.

Our problem: our SSL certificate expired Friday. The new certificate was installed Tuesday morning.

So, there was a period when our site appeared to be “BAD.” It should be okay, again.

Thanks for your patience.

Good time just to go for a walk, or a run, or a bike ride.
