Monster Mash Dash 5k and 1 Mile Run and/or Walk – FREE for Anyone and Everyone!

Thursday, October 25th, 6:00 p.m. – NEW COURSE! Start and finish at last shelter (across from boat/fishing dock). Costumes are encouraged but not required…make sure you can be active in them!

Everyone is invited to participate in the upcoming fun, free, Monster Mash Dash 5k and 1 mile fun run-walk, Thursday, 6:00 p.m., October 25th at Claremore Lake Park. All ages and fitness levels are welcome to participate. Comfortable costumes that allow walking or running safely are encouraged, but optional. This event marks the finish of RoCo Fit’s 2018 fall session. We want people to participate, celebrate and cheer on everyone as they make their goal of a 5k and becoming healthier.

This is a new course; the start/finish line is at the last shelter across the lake from the boat/fishing dock. We will take a group photo at 5:45 p.m. at the shelter and start races immediately afterwards. This is a fun Mock race, so there is no registration or official timing, but we will have a clock running for the entire race. This will be the first time many of our Couch to 5k program participants have finished 3.1 miles in a race. They have prepared these past 12 weeks and persevered through challenges improving their health each step. The mentors are excited to walk and run beside their group participants and encourage them across the finish line marking a milestone and creating an unforgettable memory with them.

RoCo Fit wants to thank all our sponsors and supporters for this event: RoCo Fit volunteer mentors, Rogers County Health Department, Healthy Community Partnership/Volunteers for Youth/TSET Healthy Living Program, and City of Claremore.

Fall Registration is Closed – Check back in 2019

For all current Fall Participants – keep watching for updates on our session!!!

RoCo Fit Fall Registration Closes Tuesday, Aug. 21st-Register Now!

Our Fall Session Couch to 5k program has started and will close registration this Tuesday, August 21st. If you want to join us in this fun, free workout – register and fill out the pre-survey now.
Workouts are Tuesdays and Thursdays – 6:00 p.m. – Claremore Lake (last shelter past the bathrooms and across lake from boat/fishing dock) – 12 weeks

All levels of fitness are welcome!
For all BEGINNERS, those who want to work towards getting to a 5k (3.1 miles) distance or struggle during the 5k distance– join our groups #1-#8 and we will help you get to that goal distance. ALSO, we have a 5:00 p.m. group that consists of people who cannot do 1 mile or struggle a lot and/or have physical limitations requiring them to do shorter distances or very, very slow paces (25:00 minute mile and longer). It is a small group with 1-2 mentors helping small groups of like fitness levels. Please talk to Renetta if you feel need this 5:00 p.m. group, she will answer questions and explain details.
AND
Advanced Walk and Advanced Run Groups:
• Both groups are called advanced ONLY because they are for those who fall out of the definition of beginner and/or have completed our program to the point they want to do more- more miles each workout, more miles total, faster pace…those who regularly walk or run more 3 miles or more.
• Each group will still sign-in, get shirts for 70% attendance, be a part of all RoCo Fit offers including emails/clinics/fun nights
• Both groups will meet with rest of RoCo Fit (Unless some decide to do another location on occasion, i.e. trails across lake, RSU reserve). But primarily meet at same location same time.
• Both groups will meet and discuss among the participants their personal goals and what they wish to do for the 12 weeks or even each workout – then divide into small groups of like goals within that advanced group – Kipp and Terry can help facilitate the discussion, but will not be mentoring each sub-group in their group – no leaders, just fun groups with like goals working out together.
